I do wonder why HK politician fails to have the audacity of hope.

  1. What do you mean?

Not to over-simplify, but I feel that the message "audacity of hope" is partly designed to counter the negative, nasty politics for the past 10 years in the U.S.

Hong Kong politics is still in its infancy.

  4. I didn't know the phrase "the audacity of hope" came from that.

    Interesting.

  5. No...it turns out that the phrase "the audacity of hope" came from a speech from Obama himself, in year 2004.

"Hope — Hope in the face of difficulty. Hope in the face of uncertainty. The audacity of hope! In the end, that is God's greatest gift to us, the bedrock of this nation."

  6. It actually came from a speech Obama heard at church.

But thanks for the footnote reference.
